Incomplete Registrations
This is a short guide to understanding how incomplete registrations come about, and what you can do about them
Where?
For any event panel in the Control Room, next to the normal counts for Registrations and Players, you may see a counter appear for Incomplete:
You may also see a box in the Registration Status area of the Season Dashboard:
You can click on either of these areas to view all incomplete registrations.
How does it happen?
As you know, the Majestri online registration process spans a few screens:
- Registration Form
- Online Shop (optional)
- Checkout
- Payment (there are a few options here)
What you may not know is that, until a green button is clicked in the Checkout screen, a registration is not considered 'complete'.
So all registrations that haven't reached that point are considered 'incomplete', and you'll be able to see them.
Why aren't people completing their registrations?
We've got quite a large sample size now that has allowed us to study this phenomenon, and we have concluded that there are heaps of reasons people aren't completing their registrations then and there. These are some of the reasons we've uncovered so far.
- Unsure which members of the family are actually playing.
- Got distracted by outside factors (eg. dinner time, kids fighting, had to go out).
- Realised they couldn't pay for it immediately.
- Didn't realise there were more screens after the registration form.
It's perfectly normal for these numbers to tally up after you've opened your event.
What to do about them
We've built some tools that help you get these people a bit of a 'nudge' to go and complete their registration. Start by viewing your list of incomplete registrations for your live event.
The first thing to check is whether there is actually a second registration for any of these people that has actually been taken through to completion. Your course of action will depend on whether that's the case. Essentially, there exists a choice between three options, which are detailed in the next three sections.
Give them a 'Nudge'
There are two ways that you can initiate an email that contains a link to where they got to in the registration process.
Bulk Notification
Simply start clicking the checkboxes to the left of the people who you would like to chase up. As soon as one is checked, a fly-up will appear from the bottom that allows you to initiate an email.
Fill in the subject and the text of whatever you'd like to tell them and click send.
They'll receive a message from the system with a link to take them right back to the registration process.
Single Notification
It's nearly always going to be better using the 'bulk' method outlined above, even if you're only sending one hurry-up. Alternatively, you can actually click on the 'View' link on the right and see the registration in its current state.
Delete the Incomplete Registration
If the person is not intending to register, or they already have a completed one in the system, you may want to just delete the incomplete registration.
Complete the Registration Yourself
If you know the person is intending to play, and has essentially filled in all of the required information, you have the option as an administrator to take it through the checkout yourself on their behalf.
Click on 'View Registration' link to the right of their entry in the grid and you'll see their incomplete registration. Click 'Continue this Registration' and you'll be able to go through the normal registration process and take the incomplete registration through the Checkout on their behalf. This action will generate the invoice and 'complete' the registration.
