Events Overview

Events are at the very heart of Majestri, and are usually the reason that the system would be used in the first place.

If you've got something coming up at the club that you want people to register, and optionally pay, for in advance, then you'll want an event.

Majestri is an off-the-shelf product but we have a customisation service around events that makes our solution fit your requirements like a glove.

Discover how events work and what we can do in order to create a perfect experience for members and administrators alike.

Understanding Events

Events are the basic unit of activity in Majestri and are what drive the forward momentum of club life. In recognition of this fact, we have invested heavily in our infrastructure to allow you to run any type of event that you can think of.

Everything from your annual player/member intake to a single day training workshop is considered an 'event' in Majestri, which makes the consistent setup/publish experience a great benefit.

Types of Events

In the many years that we have provided our service to customise events, we have seen many different types with widely-varying constraints and rules, coupled with flexibility.

There are some very common elements that we've seen across types of events, and whilst this is by no means a definitive list, see if what you've got in mind comes close to any listed below.

  • Main Season
  • Trials
  • Expressions of Interest
  • Multi-Day Coaching Clinic
  • Term-Based Programs
  • Academy Sessions
  • Team Nominations
  • Competition Player Registration
  • Ticketed Events

Thinking about Events

Even before you jump in and start creating events in Majestri, there is much to be gained by taking a step back and thinking about the requirements of your event that, if met, would make it a smooth experience for club admins and members alike. Here are some questions that, if answered, can save a lot of messing around:
  • When does my event run (start date and end date)?
  • When do I want to open and close registrations for the event? To maximise attendance you want to be taking registrations nice and early. How much lead time will you need?
  • Will players/attendees be kids, adults or a mixture?
  • How much will registration cost, and are there multiple price-points? What are the rules for triggering each possible price-point?
  • What payment methods should I accept for the event? Is the cost enough to warrant offering Payment Plans?
  • Do players need to be registered with upstream associations for affiliation/insurance purposes?
  • What are the conditions of registration for this event?

Creating an Event

There are three options available for creating an event in Majestri, and the one you'll elect to use will probably depend on how long your organisation has been using Majestri, and whether we've created an event package for you in the past.

We need to stress that there is no right or wrong way to create an event. Our powerful event customisation technology means that you're going to get the right end result no matter what.

An outline of your event creation options are documented in our guidance:

Event Package Customisation Service

Out of the box, Majestri has identified a loose set of event 'types', but the default implementations are very plain vanilla. The fees you can use are either Per Family or Per Player, and the registration form captures only basic information. For just about all of the events you want to run, you're going to need a lot more than.

Enter our customisation service....

For no extra charge, you can send us an email at support@majestri.com.au and explain to us how your event works. We then build you a custom software plugin that slots into Majestri and gives both administrators and members the bespoke experience your club is worthy of.

What we build for you we call an Event Package and usually consists of a custom registration form and fee calculator (where an event is not free to members).

Setting up an Event

The setup experience of an event is pretty consistent in Majestri, and this is by design. We want people to get comfortable creating and configuring events, so please refer to the guidance below for all the elements that may come into consideration when setting up an event:
